West Point Man Jailed

Calaveras County deputies have a West Point man jailed after a struggle at his Bald Mountain Road home this week. 33-year-old Timothy Lewis was wanted in connection with an armed robbery and motor vehicle theft, and for escaping from Sheriff’s custody.

Deputies added resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer to the charges, after they say he tried to get away from officers again this time. During a chase and struggle, deputies say they used a tazer to subdue Lewis. He was examined at Mark Twain Hospital, and then booked into jail.
