Fire fighters have contained a 15 acre fire in thick brush and pine timber near the Calaveras County community of Lakemont Pines. The blaze was discovered shortly before 5:30 this morning, after apparently burning overnight in a secluded part of the wildland. Investigators believe a hunter was probably responsible.
Crews expect to be mopping up at least for the rest of the day, and you´re advised to avoid Valley View Road, which is being used for access to the fire site.
