Tahoe Study Delayed, No Money

A study to determine why pine trees are dying along roads on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe has been delayed for several months because a lack of funding.

The Nevada Division of Forestry had expected the study examining drought, road salt and fungal infection to be completed this summer.

But the results were delayed when the agency lacked the $20,000 to send samples to a lab to test for fungus.

The forestry division is now asking the Nevada Department of Transportation to help fund it.
