Woman”s Body Recovered From Falls

Divers have recovered the body of a California woman who fell to her death in a waterfall near Lake Tahoe.

Members of the El Dorado County sheriff´s dive team retrieved the body of 24-year-old Mary “Grace” Miller yesterday from Horsetail Falls, a popular recreation area 15 miles west of South Lake Tahoe.

Authorities say Miller was hiking with her husband June 29th and went wading in the water to take a picture when she was caught up in the current and went over the falls.

Recovery efforts were hampered over the past month by swift current and water turbulence that made it too dangerous for divers. Lower water flows allowed divers to search the falls yesterday.
