Federal air security officials say armed law enforcement officers will be placed on duty near ticket counters and other public areas of airports. It´s a response to the deaths of three people, including the gunman, in July fourth shootings in front of an international airline counter at LAX. Some of the new security force in terminals will be in uniform, others undercover.
