Terror Security Tax Stalled

Police, firefighters and hospitals have given up on petitioning voters to approve a billion dollar, quarter-cent sales tax increase in November to pay for security measures after last fall´s terrorist attacks.

The petition drive stalled after the California Healthcare Association decided not to contribute money to the effort, fearing voters would reject the tax increase.
