Fire Continues To Rage In Southern California

A fire that damaged or destroyed 16 homes is burning out of control in northern San Diego County.

The two-thousand-acre blaze near Fallbrook is only 5 percent contained. Hundreds of firefighters were on the line overnight, and air attacks will resume with daylight.

The fire was whipped by Santa Ana winds yesterday in an area where homes can go for one (M) million dollars amid tinder-dry brush that hadn´t burned for decades.

The blaze injured eleven people, including six who suffered hypothermia when they jumped into a swimming pool to escape flames that roared around them.
