Lawsuit Seeks To Toss Governor Candidates

A gubernatorial primary candidate who got about one percent of the vote has sued all 14 rivals in an attempt to disqualify them.

The suit, filed in Orange County Superior Court, seeks to overturn results of Tuesday´s election that made Republican Bill Simon and Democrat Gray Davis candidates for November´s general election.

Huntington Beach Republican Nick Jesson contends that the other candidates failed to sign a required portion of an oath of office form.

His suit claims they didn´t sign a paragraph declaring that they are not aligned with anyone advocating the overthrow of the state or federal government by force.

He maintains that the other candidates only signed the first paragraph of the oath and not the second one.
