A sentencing hearing is set May 3rd for John Robert Stone of Calaveras County for two counts of child molesting. Calaveras County District Attorney Jeff Tuttle issued a statement praising his Deputy prosecutor Marianna Lehr for pursuing the case in spite of pressure to drop it. Stone was convicted by a jury this week.
Tuttle says Stone´s attorney had filed a one-and-a-quarter million dollar claim accusing Lehr of malicious and fraudulent prosecution.
