Homeless Summit Starts In Sacramento

California leaders are gearing up for a homelessness summit today in Sacramento. Government leaders and homeless advocates from around the state will consider how to help the state´s tens of thousands of homeless Californians get back on their feet.

Governor Gray Davis has announced more than 16 million dollars in grants for 14 private, nonprofit and local government agencies to create permanent affordable housing and services. He also wants the state´s 70-plus programs and agencies that provide services to the homeless to work together.
