Fire investigators say sparks from a welder started yesterday´s one-acre Darby fire. The blaze burned about 400 dollars worth of grass off Darby Road near Avery, and caused some concern among residents, in the wake of last year´s 14-thousand acre blaze that started in about the same place.
CDF investigators say the M-P Construction company from Tahoe City failed to clear flammable materials from the area before starting work.
