Lake Isabella Fire Half Contained

A 3,500 acre wildfire in the Lake Isabella area of the southern Sierra Nevada is reported 50% contained, with full containment expected tomorrow. The fire in the popular recreation area east of Bakersfield erupted Saturday, roaring into the town of Bodfish where it destroyed five homes, vehicles and outbuildings. About 200 people evacuated at Bodfish and Lake Isabella were allowed to return home when the fire slowed down. One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
