It took a jury less than two hours yesterday to convict a teen-aged Bakersfield father of felony child abuse. Carlos Cervantes, who is now 18, faces 12 years in prison when sentenced July 25th. Police say Cervantes shook his three- month-old son so severely in November that he suffered permanent brain damage.
