Here Comes Another Storm

Get out the raincoat and umbrella again. Another strong Pacific storm will move east across the Mother Lode region late this afternoon. With it comes lots of rain – heavy at times – plus gusty winds and snow in the upper elevations of the Sierra.

Snow levels are expected to drop to around the 45-hundred foot level by tonight. Snow fall could be heavy at times as well.

The National Weather Service says a winter storm watch will be in effect starting tonight through Wednesday.

They are predicting wind gusts exceeding 40 miles per hour in the mountain pass areas, including Sonora, Ebbetts, Carson and Donner summit.

Drivers on mountain roads can expect white out conditions at times and travel is expected to become hazardous from blowing and drifting snow.
