Motorcyclist Hurt In Jamestown Crash

A motorcycle rider was seriously injured yesterday when he sideswiped a SUV near Jamestown.

The highway patrol says 66 year-old Marvin Strope of Groveland was rounding a curve on Rawhide Road, south of the Table Mountain Chapel when he allowed his Honda motorcycle to drift across the center double line and sideswipe an SUV.

CHP says Strope was able to stay on the bike even though he sustained an amputated fingertip and multiple bone fractures. The SUV driver from Arnold was not injured.
