State fire officials are cutting back on two of 13 air bases in California to help offset their budget woes. The California Department of Forestry will no longer operate aircraft from the Porterville Air Attack Base and will close Ukiah Air Attack Base in Mendocino County. The Columbia Air Attack base at the Columbia Airport will remain in operation.
