The Navy says it´s preparing to deploy a seven-ship armada as early as this week loaded with six thousand to seven thousand Marines from California for possible war against Iraq. All seven ships are based at San Diego.
The Bakersfield Marine Corps Reserve Unit has been called to active duty, as preparations continue for a possible war. The site commander at the Marine Corps Reserve Center says the 100 Marines are to report for duty Wednesday.
