Two people have been killed in a traffic collision on Highway 4 west of Copperopolis this morning.
The accident just before 7 a.m. was across the Calaveras County line in Stanislaus County near Milton Road. Emergency units responding saw a large plume of black smoke coming from the crash. When they arrived, they found a fully engulfed vehicle, two people dead. No other details are known at this time.
Traffic is a mess in that area with numerous emergency vehicles and crash investigators.
