Glyn Scharf has pleaded not guilty to murder in El Dorado County Superior Court. Scharf is accused of killing his wife, Jan Scharf, a UC-Davis Medical Center nurse who disappeared in May 2002.
Just days before she vanished, Jan Scharf reportedly filed a claim that her husband was poisoning her. She later tested positive for a heart medication she wasn´t taking.
Jan Scharf is presumed dead, although authorities haven´t found her body. Glyn Scharf´s defense attorney, however, alleges that witnesses have seen Jan Scharf after she was reported missing.
