Smoke Plume Concerns Sonorans

If you saw the big plume of smoke today to the southeast of Sonora, it´s called the Meadow Fire, and it´s in Yosemite National Park.

Reports say the lightning-caused fire is currently the most active of a dozen fires burning in the park.

Public Information Officer Scott Gedman told KVML News that they are monitoring the fire, but not actively suppressing it at this time.

220 acres have burned so far, just over a mile southeast of Glacier Point Road in the Mono Meadow Trailhead.

The fire is not a threat to trails or structures, according to Gedman, and there have been no injuries.
