Fair Features Plenty of Fun

The Mother Lode Fair continues it´s four day run today in Sonora.

The top event later this afternoon is the Junior Livestock Auction. It attracts bidders from around the community, so says the fair´s Sandy Romena. “The community really comes out. It´s a great experience if you´ve never been to an auction, to watch how this all happens.” she said. “The community supports the kids. It´s fabulous.”

The auction gets under way at 5 p.m.

And the action in the livestock barn continues Sunday as well. Tomorrow is the small animal auction. Romena said there a difference for this one.

“Not all animals are market animals,” she explained. “If you want a cute rabbit or a little parakeet , those particular animals can be for sale in the auction as well.” The small animal auction is Sunday starting at 2:30 p.m.

For entertainment tonight, the Mother Lode Idol competition continues on the community stage, plus on the Main Stage at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. is the funky blues sound of Lydia Pense and Cold Blood.

At 7:30 p.m. its the roaring Redliner Truck Pulls in the Grandstand.
