Slick Roadways Lead to Mother Lode Accidents

A single vehicle went off the roadway this morning.

It happened around 7:45am on Parrott´s Ferry Road about a mile north of the natural bridge.

Witnesses say a female driver flipped her Volkswagen, but wasn´t seriously hurt.

The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of fhe accident.

Officials remind drivers whenever the roadways get slick and wet, it´s a good idea to slow down.

Sunday morning, 20-year-old Mike MacDonald was westbound on Highway 4, west of Upper Power House Road.

As he was coming down the Utica Grade, the CHP reports the Ford F-250 pickup MacDonald was driving lost traction, and slid on the highway.

The vehicle went across the road, over an embankment, and then rolled over several times, before finally hitting a tree and coming to rest.

The truck was totalled, MacDonald was not injured.
