Calaveras County is suing the Area 12 Agency on Aging for almost 54-thousand dollars.
That´s the amount of money owed for nine months worth of meal services, provided in 2002 and 2003, after another contractor quit.
The reduction in funding would eliminate all group meals and restaurant vouchers in Calaveras County, and would also reduce home-delivered meals by 75 percent.
The lawsuit was filed last week in Calaveras County Superior Court.
