Repayment Ordered In Internet Art Fraud

A former pizza deliveryman from Placerville has been ordered to repay more than $94,000 to the people he defrauded in an online art auction scam.

Kenneth Fetterman portrayed some old rummage sale art as masterpieces in online auctions. For his handywork he was sentenced today in Sacramento to nearly four years in federal prison.

Fetterman had pleaded guilty on March Third in U.S. District Court to six counts of money laundering in the scheme. He and two accomplices created more than 40 online aliases on e-Bay to falsely drive up bidding on hundreds of paintings from 1998 to 2000.

The co-defendants have pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud and are scheduled to be sentenced next Tuesday.
