The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors convene in their usual session today.
The agenda includes items involving the Sheriff´s Department providing services to the U.S. Forest Service and to the Don Pedro Recreation Area.
The agreement with the Forest Service will allow the Sheriff´s Department to work to suppress the manufacturing or trafficking of controlled substances on National Forest System lands.
And a contract with the Turlock Irrigation District will have the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department provide supplemental law enforcement services for the Don Pedro Recreation Area through September.
Both agreements happen every year, and don´t cost the county´s general fund any money. In fact, the Don Pedro agreement will bring in about 98-hundred dollars and the Forest service agreement will bring in over 66-thousand dollars.
The Supervisors will also look again at a proposed ordinance to prohibit smoking within 20 feet of the doors or operable windows of any county, city or state buildings, and they´ll consider cash awards for county employees who submit ideas that save money.
The meeting happens at the County Administration Center, and gets underway at 9am.
