Sonora City Council Appoints New Planning Commission Member

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Planning Commission has a new member after last night´s City Council meeting.

Long time Tuolumne County real estate agent Chris Garnin was selected from a field of four candidates to fill the seat vacated by Bill Canning in August.

Canning left the panel to take the council seat vacated by Marlee Powell who retired in July.

The term runs through June 30th of 2008. Garnin has lived in the local area for 25 years and is currently an agent for Century 21 Segerstrom.

Mayor David Sheppard recommended Garnin to the council, which approved the recommendation unanimously.
