Health Officials Report 21 New West Nile Cases In Horses

Sacramento, CA — State officials report 21 new cases of West Nile virus over the past week.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture says that brings the total number of reported cases so far this year to 48.

Of those 48 cases, half have died. Sixteen counties have reported cases of west nile infection with Riverside reporting the most with 13.

Health officials continue to urge horse owners to vaccinate their animals.
