Defense In Lodi Terror Case Seeks To Delay Muslim Leader’s Deportation

Sacramento, CA — An Islamic religious leader awaiting deportation to Pakistan is casting doubt on whether a father and son from Lodi were involved in terror-related activities.

Hamid Hayat is charged with lying to the F-B-I when he first denied and then allegedly admitted attending a terrorism camp in Pakistan.

His father is charged with lying when he denied his son had attended such camps.

But Khan tells the F-B-I the two aren´t smart or motivated enough to be terrorists.

Defense attorneys are scrambling to stop the government from deporting Muhammed Adil Khan and criticizing prosecutors for waiting a month to disclose his statements.

The U-S attorney says he remains “confident in the strength of our case.”
