Board Of Supervisors To Hear Results Of Berry Survey

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will learn today if the public is willing to take a tax hike to support fire services.

The William Berry Group has been polling local residents on their opinion regarding the likelihood of increased taxes to offset a $700,000 budget shortfall to the county fire services.

The shortage means cancellation of the Amador Agreement, which would close three area fire stations and drastically cut fire personnel during the off season.

The board is scheduled to take up the issue at 3:00 this afternoon.
