Relief From High Gas Prices May Be On The Way

Oil industry analysts say there may be relief in sight from the state´s staggering gas prices.

Experts say lower costs for crude oil and stability in the wholesale gas market may bring prices down in the next few weeks. Triple-A says the statewide average for self-serve regular unleaded stands at a record $2.64 a gallon. The national average is slightly less at $2.55 a gallon.

California´s highest gas prices can be found in San Francisco where residents are paying $2.74 a gallon on average, with the price topping the $3 mark at at least one station.

The lowest price in the state is in the Chico area, at $2.55 a gallon.
