Gas Prices On The Decline

The nation´s motorists appear to be enjoying a much anticipated fall in gas prices.

Analysts say the national average for a gallon of self serve regular unleaded dropped five cents over the last two weeks to $2.24.

California is still the most expensive place to buy gasoline with a statewide average price of $2.64. That´s down a penny from the record price of $2.65 set in April.

According to AAA, Sacramento drivers are paying well below the statewide average with an average price of $2.57 a gallon. San Francisco still tops the state´s list of high gas prices with an average of $2.74.

Analysts say motorists can expect to see a continued decline in prices over the next few weeks, but the prices will most likely go back up with the start of the summer driving season.
