Soldier Buried In Oklahoma May Return To California After Dispute

San Jose, CA –A bitter custody battle between divorced parents over the final resting place for a son killed in Iraq continues.

Things heated up again this week when a judge vacated a decision that the soldier´s remains belonged in Oklahoma.

The body of Army Staff Sergeant Jason Hendrix was buried last month in a plot next to his paternal grandfather in Oklahoma.

But Hendrix´ body could be exhumed if his mother in California decides to pursue a civil suit to regain custody.

Jason Hendrix grew up in Watsonville with his mother but finished his last two years of high school living with his father in Oklahoma.

Each parent filed court motions in February to determine custody of his remains.
