Undated — Despite having to endure some of the highest gas prices in the country, Triple-A says millions of California residents still plan on hitting the road this Memorial Day weekend.
The travel club says more than 5 million people are planning to travel at least 50 miles from home. That´s just over 2% more from last year. Triple-A says about 750,000 more will be traveling by air, which is a 5% increase over last year.
Analysts say travel costs are almost 5% higher overall so far this year, with most of the increase in lodging, food and entertainment expenses.
