“Smart Start” Classes Are Designed To Help Young Drivers

Sonora, Ca — Recently the California Highway Patrol introduced a new program designed to help young drivers learn how to be safe on the road.

Officer Mike Maddox says the “Start Smart” program has been a great tool. It is geared toward new and future drivers ages 15 to 19.

Maddox says the meetings have included testimony from speakers who have lost friends and family members in tragic accidents. He notes that is very powerful and emotional at times. Parents are welcome to join their teenagers at the meetings.

Past meetings have been held in both Jamestown and San Andreas. To learn about upcoming meeting dates, click HERE.
