Tiburon Residents Drive Away With “Car of the Show” Award

Murphys, CA — Saturday must have been a pretty tough day for Chief Judge Ted Raines, Assistant Chief Judge Jim Sinclair and 36 class judges when it came down to deciding the “Car of the Show” Award and the 31 catagory winners Saturday in the 10th Annual Ironstone Concours d´Elegance in Murphys.

These individuals were charged with making some pretty tough decisions given the 380 classic cars that graced the amphitheatre grounds.

Driving away with top honors in the Class P1; Packard, Classic competition and overall “Car of the Show” award were Don and Glenda Sears of Tiburon, CA. The Sears (Don is a retired advertising executive) have just moved from Omaha, NE to Marin County.

Their entry was one of only five 1930 Packard Speedster Phaetons built. Completed projects include new exterior paint (previously it was red and blue) and a new interior.

Sears added that his Packard will total four to five thousand miles this year. As he stated, “If we can´t drive it, it wouldn´t be any fun to own it.”
