Sacramento, CA — A “red flag warning” has been issued for the Sierra front and much of northern Nevada through tonight due to extreme wildfire dangers because of expected high winds with gusts of between 30 and 40mph.
Forest Service officials also warn that heavy smoke from a wildfire that has been burning in the Sierra near Foresthill could grow thicker in the Lake Tahoe basin and Reno area over the next few days.
