Arnold, CA — Logging on 274 acres near Arnold is starting next Tuesday.
The Quartz-Summit Knobs Stewardship project will thin the forest to increase fire safety around Arnold, Avery and Hathaway Pines.
The project is located within the Interface portion of the Stanislaus National Forest. Work will continue through late November and resume next April. The project is slated for completion in March 2008.
