Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department is on the lookout for a woman suspected of using counterfeit money at the Sonora Express Mart Monday.

Police say at 2:15pm a woman in her early twenties purchased some items using a $10 bill.

She exited the store and returned an hour later. She asked the clerk if she could exchange 10 $10 bills for a $100 bill and the clerk made the exchange.

A few minutes later, another clerk noticed that all the $10 bills were counterfeit. The woman is described as being about five feet tall with a slender build and a very poor complexion.

The woman was last seen getting into a newer, full size, orange extended cab pick up truck. There were two men waiting for her in the truck. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to call the Sonora Police Department at 532-8141.
