County Department Changes Take Affect

San Andreas, CA — People doing business with the Calaveras County Building and Planning Departments will see some major changes starting today.

Beginning today, July 5, the two departments have officially merged into the Community Development Agency.

County officials decided to merge the two departments back in 2005 to streamline the building process.

Both departments moved into the same refurbished building last year.

One major change is the font counter situation. The former Planning Department counter will be used for information only while the old Building Department counter will be where all business takes place.

Stephanie Moreno was recently hired on as the agency director and will lead the departments through the merge.

Other changes include department hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in which it will be open to the public also through the lunch hour.
