Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA – An initiative that´s in the signature gathering process would increase California´s minimum wage to $7.75.

Almost 400,000 signatures are needed by September for the measure proposed by Thomas W. Hiltachk of Bell, McAndrews & Hiltachk, LLP.

The proposal would bump the wage to $7.25 in 2007 and $7.75 in 2008.

It would also make changes to overtime pay laws. It would require an employee to work 10 hours a day before receiving overtime.

The measure can be tracked through the Secretary of State´s Office.
