CHP Releases Plate Number Of Suspect’s Car In Fatal Officer Shooting

Ripon, CA — Authorities are asking for the public´s help after a CHP officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop early this morning near Modesto.
The CHP says the officer was gunned down around 4:40 this morning after making a traffic stop on Highway 99 in the community of Ripon.
Before he was shot, the CHP says the officer was able to get the license plate number of the car. Police have not released the officer´s name.
Police are looking for a dark green 1990 Nissan with the license plate number “5KWA335.”
Meanwhile investigators have closed northbound Highway 99 near Hammett Road as they look for more clues. The closure is causing a massive traffic backup.
