No Speeding Through Driving Schools

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — The statewide law enforcement association says there is no speeding through driving schools.

Officials state that California law is very clear on the amount of time minors need in the classroom and behind the wheel before applying for their driver´s license.

Reports indicate some schools have been caught cutting corners, issuing certificates of completion before the required time. It is not only illegal, but potentially hazardous to all motorists when partially trained new drivers head out on the highway.

The California Association of Regulatory Investigators and Inspectors reminds driving school instructors that they must follow the official lesson plan of 25 hours of classroom time and six hours of behind the wheel training.

DMV inspectors have been cracking down on driving schools that try and short change the training of their students. Students are asked to make sure they get the full benefit of their required training.
