SRMC To Open $6 Million Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — Citing that current services available have outpaced demand, Sonora Regional Medical Center will open a new 11,000 square foot outpatient diagnostic imaging center on January 9th.

The center is located at 12811 Covey Circle off Greenley Rd. and Cabezut in Sonora.

“As a regional medical center, it is important to offer the latest medical technology to improve the health of our community,” says SRMC Vice President of Business Planning and Marketing Doug Duffield.

Duffield notes that about half of the community´s diagnostic imaging services are being provided locally, with the balance being fulfilled outside the region.

The Sonora Regional Imaging Center will provide medical screening technology from Siemens Medical Solutions, one of the largest suppliers in the healthcare industry. According to SRMC, the new technology includes:

Open Bore MRI – Accommodates larger patients and is designed to alleviate claustrophobia.

64-slice CT – Allows a physician to see a detailed 3D image of the inside of the body.

Digital Mammography – Reduces radiation exposure by up to 30 percent.

Ultrasound – Provides images of a developing baby as well as detecting vascular disease, stroke and more.

X-Ray – Used to diagnose common bone injuries as well as conditions of the lungs and chest.

Sonora Regional Imaging Center will provide diagnostic imaging exams Monday through Friday from 8am-noon and 1pm-5pm. Lab draw services will be provided Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Outpatient diagnostic imaging exams will be available Monday through Friday from 7am-4:30pm. For more information, call 536-3437.
