Arson And Burglary Suspected In Durnall & Campora Fire

Sonora, Ca — An investigation continues surrounding the early morning fire at the Durnall & Campora Propane facility on Industrial Drive.

“We consider it to be arson,” says CAL Fire Investigator Rommie Jones. “What we are doing right now is processing the scene. We´re taking witnesses statements and collecting evidence.”

Jones notes that there were numerous fires at the facility, which is something that typically would not occur if the fire was accidental.

Jones says there is also reason to believe that a burglary took place at the facility in correlation with the fire.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department is involved in the investigation.

The fire broke out around 1am this morning. It damaged the main building and destroyed three sheds and two vehicles. It also spread to approximately three acres of vegetation.
