Sonora, CA — The storm that passed through the Mother Lode earlier today apparently caused no significant damage.

Yosemite Park´s Adrienne Freeman reports the brunt of the storm hit the park at approximately 3am. Although there was significant lightning no structures were hit. Freeman adds that as soon as skies clear and minor repair work is completed on the park´s aircraft, the area will be searched for any isolated damage.

Spokesman Pat Kaunert of the Stanislaus National Forest reports no lightning strikes were reported with this new storm. 48 hours ago eight strikes cause minor fires that were quickly contained. Kaunert adds that all lookouts are on high alert. In addition aircraft will be scouring the Sierras for any lightning activity.

According to CAL FIRE officials, lightning struck a tree at Deer Flat and Wards Ferry in Groveland, but that fire was quickly extinguished. In addition there was one acre of vegetation that burned on J-59 at the entrance of the Seven Legends subdivision.
