Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — The visitors bureaus from Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties respectively captured the gold over the weekend for their booths at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

According to Lisa Reynolds, the executive director of the Calaveras Visitors Bureau & Film Commission, Sacramento area resident Richard Bay constructed their booth with an able assist from Anna Davis.

The theme is Go Calaveras. Reynolds admits that frogs were a predominant part of the display. The county´s favorites were traveling in cars, snowboarding, fishing and even drinking wine. A waterfall was also included in the exhibit.

Discover the Bounty was the theme of Tuolumne County´s booth. Ranches and farms provided grass fed beef, range free poulty and a host of other products. Also included in the booth were MeWuk Indian artifacts along with a high tech display of Tuolumne County´s beauty.

Sandy Gordon of the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau was elated that Supervisors Dick Pland and Paulo Maffei and their wives, Audrey and Janet, C.A.O. Craig Pedro and his wife Ruth, Kevin and Susan Day from the Tuolumne Band of MeWuk Indians and George Segarini of the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce were all on hand for the Friday evening presentations.
