Waste Management Responds To Questions About Garbage Pick-Up

Sonora, Ca — Teamsters from Local 70 continue to picket outside the Cal Sierra facility in Sonora.

Local 439 of Sonora is honoring the picket, meaning that no garbage is currently being collected in the community. This has led to many questions about when garbage pick-up will continue as scheduled.

“We don´t anticipate any major service disruptions,” says Waste Management Spokesperson Jennifer Andrews. “While service may be delayed, we anticipate serving everyone within a day of their normal service.”

Customers should continue to place garbage out by the curb during the regular pick-up day, and understand that it may not be picked up until a day later.

“This is an outside dispute that does not concern Waste Management´s Cal Sierra employees,” adds Andrews. “We regret any delays that the action in Oakland may cause to our customers here.”
