Jamestown Jail Move Scheduled For June 13

Jamestown, Ca — One week from today, the historic Jamestown Jail will be transported from Pollardville to Jamestown.
The decision was made at a meeting held yesterday.We´re expecting the jail to arrive between noon and six o´clock,” says committee member Jim O´Neil.It will be stored behind Rocca Park were the footings and slab have already been poured.”
O´Neil says the bricks have been removed and are currently in storage near Columbia. The wood structure will be transported in two pieces. The full restoration could be complete sometime next spring.
