Calcutta Draws Crowd At Posse Grounds

Jamestown, Ca — The Sheriff´s Posse Grounds on Rawhide Rd. was the site of the annual Calcutta tonight.
It is another one of the popular events leading up to Mother Lode Round-Up. The participants in this weekend´s calf scramble competition were auctioned off to the top bidders. 25 percent of the proceeds go to the Posse´s scholarship program. The remaining money is split up and given to the bidders of the top three finishing teams on Saturday and Sunday.
Event organizer Dan Durnall says he was very pleased with the turnout. The total amount raised will be announced Friday.
