Sex Offender Released Monday Afternoon

Sonora, CA — 44 year old Clayton Dean Hill, a non-registered sex offender in Tuolumne County, was released this afternoon by the Sheriff´s Department.

Lt. Dan Bressler stated that his department was unable to provide the District Attorney´s office with sufficient evidence due to time constraints to keep Hill encarcerated.

Bressler added that the investigation will continue as to where Hill is currently living and what his activities have been of late.

Hill was arrested Friday afternoon while driving suspiciously around the Jamestown School. In his possession were found toys, stuffed animals and video tapes; one of which was pornographic. Hill was booked on $50,000 bail. His van was impounded but has since been claimed by relatives.
